In our environment, there are so many plants some are small, some are big, some are grounded, some have big flowers, some have small flowers, some have green leaves, some have red, some have broad leaves and some have small leaves, and there numerous varieties of plants and leaves.

Herbs 
Plants that are shorter than us and have green and tender stems are called Herbs. The tomato and coriander are examples of herbs.

Plants that are slightly taller than us and have branched out from the base and the stems are hard but not thick. These are called as shrubs.

Trees
Plants usually taller than us and have a harder stem, numerous leaves and the root system is well developed are called trees, for example: Mango, neem, etc.

Creepers
These plants have a weak stem and can’t stand upright and spread on the ground. For example Pumpkin, watermelon, etc.

Climber
They have a thin, long stem that can take the support of other neighboring structures and climb and called Climbers. The examples are Grapes, Money plants, etc.

Weeds are called as unwanted planted sometime grow in our garden, farms which require weedicides or removal because they can affect the crop yield because weeds also fight for the nutrient.

It helps in the conduction of water and minerals. we can check this through the following shown experiment. The leaves and flower change to red in colour due to the upward movement of water through the stem.

Leaf venation 
It can be defined as the pattern present in the leaves which are made by the presence of veins in a leaf is called Leaf venation. The leaf venation are of two types: Reticulate and Parallel Venation. It is found that the plants which have reticulate venation also have tap root system and parallel venation plant have a fibrous root system.

Transpiration

It is the process of water loss from the leaves, stem, and flowers in the form of water vapors. Transpiration occurs through the stomata pores present in the lower surface of leaves.

Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy. In this process, food is synthesized in the leaves with the help of sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water, which results in the formation of glucose and liberation of oxygen is called photosynthesis

Roots
They act as an anchor and hold the plant with the soil and also absorb water and minerals from the soil. The two basic types of roots are Taproots and Fibrous Roots.

Flowers
It can be defined as the reproductive part of the plant which has male and female sex organs (Stamen and Pistil). The male organ is called as Androecium and the female sex organ of flower is called Gynoecium.

Answer: The pistil may or may not be free or joined.

  • To provide support and help to hold the plant upright.
